The West Maui Taxpayers Association, working with Maui Emergency Management Agency, the Pacific Disaster Center and State Emergency Management Agency, is facilitating a series of community meetings to develop a West Maui disaster plan.
This month, our guest speaker from HI-EMA (Hawaii Emergency Management Agency) will be presenting on Community Resource Mapping. This workshop will offer guidance for defining individual skills and community resources that could assist in disaster preparedness planning, response and recovery efforts.
This free presentation starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center Main Hall.
As the hazards that can affect us are diverse, so is our community. We need your involvement to plan for the whole community. Please come and be part of your community’s plan.
For more information about this event, contact Joe Pluta with the West Maui Taxpayers Association at 661-7990 or Maui Emergency Management Agency at 270-7285.
