County of Maui's RSVP Volunteers Luncheon

Posted on February 14, 2012 at 3:29 PM by Mayor Alan Arakawa

Mayor Arakawa shared the love this Valentines Day to the ladies of the County's Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) by treating them to a special mahalo luncheon at the Kahili Gold Course & Restaurant.

The Volunteers are Robin Canto, Grace De Porter, Violet Espania, Carolyn Johnson, Helene Kaya, Clare Kihara, Hazel Nitta, Jean Prandini, Kiyoko Quiggle, Mildred Sakamoto, and Mildred Whitney.  In 2011, these volunteers served 2,482 hours and handled a total of 7,692 inquiries and requests for assistance at the Information Booth which is located on the 2nd floor lobby in the County building.

After saying a few words of thanks to the volunteers for the "selfless" work they do for the County of Maui and the community - Mayor Arakawa presented each volunteer with a certificate of appreciation, a goodie bag, and long-stem rose to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Not all the volunteers could make it to the luncheon, but here are ladies accepting their Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor.

Robin Canto.  She also was celebrating her birthday today!
